Federico Herrero (1978), Lives and works in San José, Costa Rica. He is an artist who makes paintings that often extend beyond the canvas and play with the notion of the perception of time and space.

His most recent projects and exhibitions include:
Letters and numbers at Luisa Strina Gallery; Novo Tropical Museum, Teorética, San José; Aloha friend, 21st Century Art Museum of Kanazawa; Panamericana, Kurimanzutto, Mexico City; Pontevedra Biennial 2010; and Do it, catalog and traveling exhibition. Additionally, he has just completed a large-scale mural for the MAR (Rio Art Museum) and his work has been included in Panorama 33 at the MAM (Sao Paulo Moderon Art Museum). In addition, he showed his work at the Venice Biennale 2001, Urgent Painting at the Musee d arte moderne della Ville de Paris 2002; The Havana Biennial 2003; Empty Garden at the Watari Museum Tokyo 2004; Moscow Biennale 2006; Singapore Biennale 2006, Venice Biennale 2008, Passengers at the Wattis Institute San Francisco 2008, Second Polygraphic Triennial of the Caribbean and Puerto Rico 2009.

Herrero is also the founder of Des Pacio, a space for contemporary art located in San José, Costa Rica. Des Pacio has been supporting different artists and activating the contemporary art scene in Central America since 2007.

Federico Herrero (1978), Vive y trabaja en San José, Costa Rica. Es un artista que hace pinturas que muchas veces se extiende más allá del lienzo y juegan conla noción de la percepción del tiempo y el espacio.

Sus proyectos y exposiciones más recientes incluyen:
Letras y números en Galería Luisa Strina; Novo Museo Tropical, Teorética, San José; Aloha amigo, 21st Century Art Museum of Kanazawa; Panamericana, Kurimanzutto, México DF; Bienal de Pontevedra 2010; y Do it, catálogo yexposición itinerante. Además, acaba de completar unmural de gran escala para el MAR (Museo de Arte de Río) y su trabajo ha sido incluído en la Panorama 33 en el MAM (Museo de Arte Moderon de Sao Paulo). Herrero también es el fundador de Des Pacio, un espacio para arte contemporáneo localizado en San José, Costa Rica. Des Pacio ha estado apoyando a distintos artistas y a activar la escena de arte contemporáneo en Centro América desde el 2007.
